Shock absorbers are little button-like material that is inserted or placed at the bottom of the racquet to reduce the effect of vibrations that can travel to your body while you are hitting the shots. It is a device that is used even by top professionals and if you have developed a habit of playing with a shock absorber, then you might not be able to play tennis without it for some time and you’ll be pretty uncomfortable without it.
From club level to professional players, all type of athletes uses vibration dampeners. Top professionals that use dampeners on the tour are given in the following table. (Federer does not sue a dampener)
